Description
Little Falls, Minnesota is the town that Charles Lindbergh grew up in (he was actually born in Detroit, but moved to Minnesota as a small child). Lindbergh (1902-1974) became a national hero when he became the first man to fly solo and nonstop across the Atlantic in 1927, and in 1967 the airport in his home town dedicated "Charles A. Lindbergh Field" in his honor. This event cover, cancelled at the airport dedication 40 years to the day after Lindbergh's historic flight, is unaddressed and bears two cachets, one for his flight and another for the airport dedication. It is cancelled on an 8-cent embossed airmail envelope, and would be a fine addition to any cover collection, or as a gift to the aviation enthusiast.
