revival of the W. Somerset Maugham play opened in NYC on 12/08/51 and ran for 138 performances

The cast includes
Katharine Cornell, Brian Aherne, Grace George, John Emery, Gertrude Musgrove, Evea Leonard-Boyne, Claude Horton, Nan Martin and Liam Sullivan.  Directed by Guthrie McClintic

The photo was taken standing on a step ladder, hence the slanted appearance, but the poster is rectangular.  Some of the posters have minor tears or short creases in the folds which have been repaired on the back with thin archive tape.
Condition is very good with minor wear including tears repaired with thin archive tape and small edge chips missing.
3 Sheet Posters
are advertising theatre posters printed on heavy paper and usually come folded in more than one section like old billboards -- hence the name.  Commonly displayed in subway stations and most famously in areas like Shubert Alley in Manhattan's Theatre District.

CONDITION:
I use a six-step condition scale to describe the overall paper quality:  Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.  Good means just that:  desireable for a collection with no immediate need to upgrade.  Excellent and Mint are usually reserved for publisher and music store remainders.  Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear.  All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition.
