Description
SS MANASOO ship first day cover with a postmark from Liberty, MO dated June 15, 2020. Blue photo cachet #8900 of the ship by Alvin Eckert USCS #9964.This 178' bulk cargo freighter was transporting passengers and 100 cattle when she sank in a storm on Sept 14, 1928 off Griffith's Island, Ontario, Canada. Cover is franked with a 3 cent Soo Locks stamp # 1078 on a 55 cent American Flag stamped envelope # U-700 (FDOI).
