    Description

    SS MANASOO ship first day cover with a postmark from Liberty, MO  dated June 15, 2020. Blue photo cachet #8900 of the ship by Alvin Eckert USCS #9964.
    This 178' bulk cargo freighter was transporting passengers and 100 cattle when she sank in a storm on Sept 14, 1928 off Griffith's Island, Ontario, Canada. See her web pages for the details of her design, construction and service history.  18 passengers and crewmen were lost in this disaster.
    Cover is franked with a  3 cent Soo Locks stamp # 1078 on a 55 cent American Flag stamped envelope # U-700 (FDOI).
