Order of Eastern Star Holy Bible Original Box Holman Previous Owner Name (1956)

Description

This is a lovely presentation Order of the Eastern Star, without history of OES, edition Holy Bible, King James edition.  It was published by the AJ Holman Co but is not dated.  The presentation page is filled out and dated 1956.  It was printed and bound in the US.  It isn't marked, so I don't know if it is leather of not.  The bible measures 3.5x5.5" and in the original box, S164A.  The white blue cover is discolored with age, looking more cream/ivory and the edges of the pages are dyed purple.  It is a bit dirty and instructions for cleaning are still inside.  There are some dirty spots on the cover and it is a bit stiff and could use conditioning.  The gold lettering on the cover and spine is in good shape.  There are b/w maps in the back.  There are 5 attached bookmarks in different colors and they are bent and worn at the end.  The box shows wear around the corners but is intact and has kept the book protected.  Both have a light old smell.    A nice book for the Masonic student or historian.
