"History of Scottish Rite Masonry in Chicago From its Introduction until the Semi-Centennial Anniversary in the Year 1907" (or as the spine reads, "Oriental Consistory 1856-1907") is a 264 page, 6.25"x9.25" hardcover written and published in 1907 by George W. Warvelle. This is the scarce first edition. It provides the history of the organization, a list of all members over the years, and the group's laws.The book is in good condition, with no dust jacket. the gilt decorated blue cloth boards show a bit of fraying at the extremities, edge wear, a couple small stains and scuffs, a faint moisture stain at the foot of the spine. There's an old price in pencil on the ffep, page 154 is bent at the top corner, and the interior is age-toned. The binding is strong.
