The coin features a West Indian Manatee or Sea Cow (Trichechus manatus), and the words Faith.
The rear of the coin features the Guyanese coat-of-arms consisting of two jaguars holding a pick axe and stalks of rice and sugar cane, supporting a shield bearing Guyana's national flower, the Victoria regia lily, and Guyana's national bird, the Canje pheasant (Opisthocomus hoazin)
