were proudly worn in honor of the ladies' husband, father, son, brother, and beau who served in the military of various nations, especially during the time of war. The buttons were part or their uniform, and easily recognized by friends, relatives, military
personnel
, and neighbors.  It was a sensitive way to keep their loved ones close to them when their men were far away.

The head is in decent shape, rich patina, solid connection, brass. Stem is straight/strong, slight oxidation.
No marks observed..
Overall, good condition. Normal wear.
Date: early 1900s.
