ANSAR TEMPLE  Springfield Illinois A.A.O.N.M.S.  1924
Large book, light weight card covers, stapled binding, the front cover printed in vivid color, evenly toned.  Book measures approx. 9-1/2" x 12-1/2"   Unpaginated, there are about 88 pages plus the front and rear blank pages, all quality coated paper, contents are clean and bright, unmarked.  This Souvenir Book was printed by Jeffersons Printing of Springfield Illinois (noting they had 6 members in the Ansar Temple). The rear cover is blank, with some darker toning and a few dots of soil (see photo). The spine edge has a tear or "break" that is more pronounced in the front and diminishes going from front to back.  The break is in the gutter, perhaps related to the 3 staples that bind the book and does not come any further into the pages than the "cord" that encircles each page.  see photos. The final blank page has some small losses and is barely holding.  The remainder of the book is firmly bound, full of photos of current members as well as historic photos and information. The book is approximately half advertising, almost all left side pages are partial page or even full page ads from the Springfield Illinois area.  Ads include some photos and illustrations from Hotels to cars, banks clothing, department stores, theaters, Traction Co, etc. Group photos detailing trips, Shriners Hospital for Children info.  A wealth of information. A scarce piece.
