9 LED's to indicate which wire whether open or not on both the remote and master unit ("G" light only for FSTP cable). If two or more cables are short-circuited, neither of the corresponding lights is on of the remote tester while the main tester remains unchanged. Thus, you could perform a thorough diagnostics test on either telephone or internet cords without any issues.
The host and auxiliary tester can be separated, and the maximum separation test distance is 1000 feet. You can also use the host to test one end of the network cable to determine whether the other end of the network cable is connected to the device or whether one of the cable cores is disconnected.
