1st Lt. Audie Murphy fought with the US forces in France during 1944-1945. This was
a rapidly moving infantry, included artillery guns armored tanks and ground strafing
airplanes. The Americans tipped the balance of power after England vs,
Germany, had faced off across the English Channel. The end came in 1945
when the Germans had been overrun on both the eastern and western fronts.
1st Lt. Audie Murphy, from Texas, received the Medal of Honor for his heroism
for his fighting effort in France.
He was ordered to tour US cities to encourage recruitment and was the
subject of a book and later a movie
