Description
An Oration delivered at Meredith Bridge N.H. New Hampshire June 24 [1825] before Mt. Lebanon and Centre Lodges at the Festival of St John the Baptist by Brother Lafayette Mace. K.T. Member of the Grand Enncampment of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.Concord Printed by Isaac Hill 5825 (1825)
Disbound, (all pages present with a tiny stitch holding a portion) paper evenly toned, foredge worn and corners rounded. Good sharp imprint for this 22 page piece. One small loss on page 11/12 see photo, a few pages roughly opened but otherwise clean and bright. Rare piece, now separated from any original binding but complete. Scarce early mention of the Mt. Lebanon (#32) Lodge and the Centre Lodge (#20) of New Hampshire. Mt Lebanon (Laconia) chartered in 1819 and the Centre Lodge in Sanbornton in 1809. The Centre Lodge was disbanded in 1840 so of short duration. This information found in an article from the
Laconia Daily Sun
in 2016 and credited to the Laconia Museum and Historical Society and lodge member Pat Tierney. Thus a mention of the short lived lodge as well as an early printing. SEE PHOTOS. I find no record in OCLC of this scarce Masonic piece. Please view all photos carefully, I will be happy to answer questions or provide further photos.
